"NY International" co-producer Al Angeloro plays a short tribute to legendary American singer/songwriter Willy DeVille, leader of the rock band Mink DeVille (among others) which helped define the sound and scene of CBGB and NYC's East Village in the 1970s. (For complete history & information, see
http://www.willydevillemusic.com/ and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willy_DeVille.)
This mix was played live on Radio Soleil during our show of 8/6/09. It includes both a spoken word tribute and musical selections.

Digging through the archives, I found this show from late summer of last year. I think Edwin Reed-Sanchez was visiting from Bluefields, Nicaragua - it seems we were playing some tracks he brought back from the studios of Bluefields Sound System, which he founded along with Zander Scott. This was a fun show with lots of great energy. Enjoy!!!

Al Angeloro carries the whole 4 hours with a wild, eclectic mix from, well, pretty much everywhere. ... DJ Neva listens from home while recovering from ailments induced by the changing season and ridiculously unstable weather. Enjoy!!!
